No diagnosis for enlarged lymph nodes

I have a 1.4 cm lymph node on my neck, at least that's what the CT scan results showed. The radiologist indicated that the tissue seemed normal, but the shape was abnormal. I've had drenching night sweats for a couple of weeks. My blood work is normal and I have no other symptoms.

I was referred to an ENT doctor. Despite the CT scan, my ENT doctor said it COULD be a lymph node, but it could be something else. He told me to wait one month and if the mass does not go away, he is going to remove it.

I'm wondering if I should get a second opinion. It seems (at least in my non-medical professional mind) that a biopsy would be a better option so that we can determine what this mass is and if it needs to be removed.
