I was told yesterday that I have a mannan binding lectin deficiency that is secondary to recurrent breast abscess. I just want to know if there is someone else out there that is mannan binding lectin deficient. I want to know more about what people are going through and how they cope with this.

  • Supposedly it means that if you get a virus or an infection, you need antibiotics or antivirals, as your system cannot fight by itself. To go without would mean increased infection, more danger to your health. It is not something that would be secondary. It is a genetic factor. At this time there is no cure. FDA has a drug pending to replace MBL.I was told yesterday that I have a mannan binding lectin deficiency that is secondary to recurrent breast abscess.
