I have always had diarrhea. But I have always been able to handle it with Immodium. That is until 3 1/2 weeks ago.
It started with diarrhea with dry heaves. My primary dr. wasn't overly concerned that is until I really began complaining to him after a week. Then he did a culture of my stool to look for parasites. That came back negative. I eventually called him enough so that he sent me to a gastroentonolist (SP?) I saw him on a Wed. at 3PM and he had me in on that Thursday at 7AM for a colonoscopy. He believed that I had Crohns Disease. Well, he sent out 6 cultures as well as another stool culture but said he did not see any signs of Crohns in my colon.
Now mind you, it has been over 3 weeks, I cannot work nor am I getting paid. I'm getting very frustrated. Now it is the weekend and I am still going, cannot leave my house for long periods of time (I hate public bathrooms and will not use them) My stool is yellow, frothy and gritty. Also immodium is not working and I have begun bleeding a bit.
I have been told by some to get a test for Gallbladder Disease but the doctor wanted to do the colonoscopy and 2 other tests before he does that test.
Please help if you may know what to do. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

  • Sounds like bile in the stool, like the same thing happens with vommiting you get dry heaves with some bile in it. Could you try eating more cheese and bananas as those can help bind you up.
