I have been to the doctor and the dermatologist, and nobody knows what this could be caused by.

I have a brownish yellow discoloration around my mouth and on my eyelids. I'm not sure how long I've had it, but I started noticing it around 5 years ago. It isn't a surface stain that can be scrubbed off, and the texture of the skin is normal. I'm a 20 year old female.

I've had blood work done, and there is nothing wrong with my liver, thyroid, or iron levels.

This is what the area around my mouth looks like.

  • :oI have not seen this before, but, I do have a question. How many yellow vegetables, squash, pumpkin, carrots, etc do you eat a day. I remember my grandson would not eat veggies when a baby except for squash and carrots. As a result he developed yellow to orange pigmentation in various areas of his body, i.e. palms, soles of feet and I don't remember about his face, but, the discolloration did go away when we rescricted his carotene consumption. There were no harmful aftereffects.

  • I have had the same thing for 10 years now. I cannot figure out what it is. I was however diagnosed with ANA TITER speckled which COULD turn into lupus. Lupus has a side effect called butterfly rash on the face. That is the only thing I can think of, but all the images on google look exaggerated. Yours is the only one that matches what I have. Mine is orange (sometimes yellow). I used to think it was Chloasma but its not. Im going nuts. Do you have any other symptoms? Like fatigue? Joint stiffness? Foggy thinking?
