Worried about adverse effects

I use my laptop a great deal on a daily basis and I noticed a while ago that there's constantly electricity streaming into my body, I don't notice it at all but my partner will touch me and recoil from an electric shock, especially if he's near any metal. I've tried replacing the power supply but that was even more tempermental than the one that came with the laptop. I don't know if it's causing me any harm or not but I've read that low voltages can sometimes be the worst. I know mine are probably relatively low but I want to put my mind at ease knowing that I'm not slowly frying myself or something :|
