My daughter was sick in May with ecoli that turned into HUS. She had kidney failure, pancriatitis and illeus bowel. She had several blood transfusions and dialisis and was hospitalized for a month. She had problems with insulin and high blood pressure while in the hospital. She, thankfully fully recovered and was released. She also was diagnosed with Systemic JRA in 05. She has been symptom-free for a year and off her meds since May when she was sick.
Ever since then, she has had a distended stomach not caused by constipation, headaches, mood swings, irritability, fatigue, periodic swelling of the feet, brown (half dollar sized) spots on her feet and smaller ones on her knuckles. She gained about 8 pounds (from 55 to 63) in a short amount of time, and has premature adrenarche.
They have run every test to check her hormone levels & kidney function and all are normal. Doctors say just do nothing and see if anything new happens. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing these symptoms in her?
