I'm a healthy 20 year old female who could sleep 12 hours a day no problem. About a year ago I went off of Paxil. Soon after I had to go on Zoloft. (Anxiety issues not depression.) After a semester of anxiety problems no surprise I got stomach problems. I have inflamed areas in my stomach and way too much acid. When I wake up in the morning I can taste it in my mouth a little. No medicine works... most make it worst. The only things that help are Aloe water and acupuncture.
Now the stomach and the anxiety are mostly under control, but I am ALWAYS tired. They have tested me for thyroid problems, and anemia and both came back negative. Even after a full 8 or even 9 hours of sleep if I sit still for more then 10min I am ready to go back to sleep. I struggle through all my classes, and work. Homework can prove to be impossible. I try to take naps, but I always wake up feeling worse then before.
I recently switched to Yaz birth control and am wondering if that could be part of the problem? People that haven't known me for a long time always ask if I sleep at night.. when I tell them 8 to 10 hours and I have dreams they start to worry about me. I am always falling asleep watching movies, and even right now I am so tired (I got a solid 10 hours followed by two hours of drifting in and out in bed last night, and 10 hours the night before).
PLEASE help I am so tired of not having the energy to go out and have fun. I constantly miss doing things with friends because I am too tired!
