Ok so here it is.
I'm 26 years old and I got a cold in March this year. I went to the doctor, she said my lungs sounded clear and she prescribed me low dose anti-biotics. About 3 weeks later I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't breathe to a point where an ambulance was called. Once they arrived my breathing had settled as whatever was blocking my windpipe had calmed down. They told me my lungs sounded clear and that there was nothing they could do other than monitor me for the night. I didn't bother going with them I just slept sitting up as they suggested. They said the congestion had probably blocked my windpipe and when I had sat up it had cleared. So I went to another doctor that week and after another week of tests including for asthma which I came up negative for, I was finally diagnosed with whooping cough and given two weeks of anti biotics. I have since, taken vitamin c, horseradish and garlic tablets, drank plenty of water, have had early nights with plenty of sleep etc etc. It is now July, I still cannot get rid of any of this congestion on my chest, it's still yellow mucus that i'm coughing up, and I still have the cough that 'whoops'. It's getting ridiculous, I'm tired of medical practitioners that can't appear to help me and have told me to 'wait it out'. Anyone that can suggest anything useful please let me know????
