Hi. For over a year now whenever i am doing a rigorous activity such as running, biking, sex or lifting weights something peculiar happens. My fingers go numb then it literally crawls up my arm then to my face affecting my tounge and gums. Sometimes it goes away sometimes it get worse into being unable to speak coherently or turns into a headache. I have been told this is a migraine and was given a antidepressant for migraines. I refuse to take these as I always get the worst side affects from them. I am getting frustrated because I cannot have sex without this happening. I have been told by someone who gets this it is from blood pressure and when he quite smoking the episodes stopped comming. I do smoke. Any ideas of what this is for sure and how to prevent the episodes?????

  • It should be easy to check your blood pressure when this happens (monitors are easily available). If you have high blood pressure, then you should see your doctor immediately. It might be more likely that it is being caused by back problems though.
