White patches on tongue

This has been happening a lot lately. I get those extra/swollen taste buds, that's common I guess, but I also get what seems to be patches of skin on the sides of my tongue. The white patches do feel sensitive to touch just the same as the swollen taste buds do. It's not like this is a life or death thing, they are just annoying. I was wondering what they are, what they mean, and if I should be looking further into this.

  • Likely an infection - make sure you're getting enough sleep, only good food, etc - and your body should fight it off within a couple days. Mouths heal quickly.
