I am a 34 yr. old female who has been sick and getting sicker since the fall of 2005.i initially waited 6 months before first going to my dr.i first started having a couple of painless enlarged nodes in my neck.from there i began having night sweats, itching and fatigue, and began losing weight in feb. 2006.i have now lost about 15% of my body weight, have painless nodes enlarged in back of neck, front of neck, behind ear, above collarbone, under left arm,in the backs of my arm(just above elbows),in groin.have unexplained lower back pain, and bad constipation for no reason.i now have some type of hump on the back of my neck with enlarged nodes above it,and experience sharp pains in the back of my head, the worst pains i've ever felt.i bruise easily, and my leg bones ache.pet scan 1 yr. ago showed uptake in thymus and area of cervix.BMB 1 yr. ago showed no malignancy, but low vol. of bone marrow.saw 2 oncologists, both said could be slow-growing lymphoma, may have to wait for years to get diagnosed.had inguinal node biopsy sept. 2006,it said benign but reactive(i requested that it be sent to another lab for second opinion, but my drs. would not send it.they said if 1 lab ruled it benign, they all would)now have numbness,tingling,electric-shock feelings in hands, arms, feet and legs, clumsiness, severe abdominal pain up under left rib cage and under right side of rib cage,my rib cage has expanded so that i feel uncomfortable wearing anything tight-fitting(it looks like my ribs are an extra set of breasts),my diaphragm sinks in when inhaling, which my dr. did say was odd, problems forming words, urinary urgency, problems holding in urine, chest pain, heart beats really hard upon mild exertion, pain in left side of neck, especially when drinking liquor,ct scan w/contrast last week (pd. for out-of pocket) showed what radiologist says "appear to be benign-looking cysts" on liver and kidneys(they were not there 1 yr. ago),now have low hemaglobin(9.5),i eat a lot,but still lose weight(body fat index down to 16.5),feel dizzy, and like i will black out,and hot water makes me itch in shower.i also have had itchy places on neck and sides of face for about 8 months that do not spread, but never seem to heal.cough up blood-streaked mucous now,the last 3 weeks,i can feel my heartbeat in stomach after mild exertion.I have no insurance at all,my dr. said i need liver or kidney biopsy to determine whether these are cysts or not,but no one will do one on uninsured person.i need a dr. who can put all these pieces together and work out this puzzle for me.i still work full-time,and never call in sick, even with all this going on,because i've been taught that you never shirk responsibilities, but it's getting harder.i am not on any prescription meds.i take OTC pain meds to manage.i live in southwest Va,and would have to travel to go to a bigger teaching hospital for help.can someone help me?

  • Hi, I see it's been awhile since the last post. It's now Aug., but I imagine nothing has changed as of yet. I am a Chiropractic student intern at Life Chiropractic College West. You have several complaints/symptoms that I am very interested in, however, one in particular. Does the itching(pruritis) on your neck come on while drinking alcohol as well?

  • Go to the University of Virginia Health System website and go to patient services. Then go to financial assistance. Find an oncologist who can help with your diagnosis. The most common symptom of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a painless swelling of the lymph nodes in the neck, underarm (axilla), or groin.Other symptoms may include the following:Unexplained feverUnexplained weight loss and anorexia (poor appetite)Constant fatigueItchy skinReddened patches on the skinSuch symptoms are non-specific and may be caused by other, less serious conditions
