Hi, I've had an awful rashy patch on my face for the greater part of 3 months. It's on my right cheek, and it looks red to purple, it burns, and it's very dry. It comes and goes -- ranging from feeling normal and only having a pale pink color, to burning and stinging and being bright red. I have severe eczema on my hands, and I was wondering if anyone thinks it could be eczema? I don't remember if it was ever itchy (I think it might have been in the beginning), but now it just burns and stings. No doctor has been able to tell me what it is. Today I have tons of parties to go to, and it's more inflamed than ever before -- it looks awful and my skin hurts too bad to try to put makeup on it. Please help! This is what it looks like (the reason my skin looks greasy is because I tried putting neosporin on it... otherwise it looks dry and flakey):

The skin isn't bumpy and those little red dots are NOT acne -- they're just red dots (not raised or anything) that appear when my face gets inflamed.

Does anyone know what that might be? THANK YOU!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!Hi, I thought I'd throw this in even though it is over a year old for anyone else who's in a similar position. I had pretty bad facial eczema at university(probably all the alcohol!) so I'd have really dry scaly skin on the corners of my nose and mouth which I couldn't get rid of...itchy, red, all pretty nasty! The Dr's gave me steroid creams which initially helped but I eneded up using them for a couple of years but it never got rid of the redness. In fact it made it even worse because it thins the skin so anytime in the sun will give you bad sun burn and I even started getting small spider veisn on my nose from the cream! DON'T USE THEM!I've all but got rid of the eczema now from a simple daily routine...E45 lotion (cream is too thick for me!) twice a day after I shower. Only use an unperfumed and gentle soap(Dove) and try to steer clear of any other facial applications (aftershave for blokes...or any fancy creams etc for girls I would think) Also shaving with a blade really drys my skin out and brings the eczema back so invest in a good electric razor and kiss your worries goodbye.Simple, cheap, effective...and don't listen to the Drs...they just want to make you spend money and just make it worse.
