I've started noticing these little dark red and brown pin *****s under the skin of my palms and left arm. It's progressed from my palm down to the underside of my forearm and now it's spreading to the top of my hand and looks like the photos I've seen of Petechiae. I also have unexplained bleeding from my lip that took awhile to stop. Any ideas?

Any ideas?petechiae is bleeding under the skin, in its severe form it is termed ecchimosis. there are several causes to this clinical symptom, that is to say it is not a condition but a manifestation of a condition. i will need your history in other to be able to give a definite diagnosis; its character, duration and whether you have a history of haemophilia.

It started 24-48 hours ago. And no history of anything else. I had a severe respiratory infection (maybe chronic strep) from Julyish-December. Don't know if that helps or not. If theres anything else you need let me know.

  • Actually now that I think about I've had these broken blood vessels before. Usually around and above my collar bones, but I had always blamed it on my shirt. It's occasionally popped up in my arms, but never this bad.

I myself get this on my stomach and chest and the doc said it was normal but they are many !! It is bleeding but mine are all over my skin in huge bunches. They are tiny capilaries that I do know but how and why we get them is to me a mystery. Mine to happen if I stretch or bend my body I always know that if I look down there they will be. They take forever to go away. Hope your well and if you find out more let me know. I have sever muscle spasms and I think it has something to do with that.
