I've been sick since July of 2006. I've had abdominal swelling and nagging pain. Not just bloated but I look 8 or 9 months pregnant. I've visited a family doctor, digestive disease doctor and a gynecologist. No one knows whats wrong? I've even had my gall bladeder taken out! My symptoms are: extreme distention, black eyes, slight pain in right side of naval, and now it hurts to sit down and now major fatigue. I've had CT scans, ultrasounds, and every blood test available. I've ruled out ovarian cancer and thyroid problems. Digestive disease doctors say I have gas! I'm not sure about that because there is not a pattern to the foods I eat. I thought about cutting out all fruits and veggies but that's supposed to be good for you. I have a problem figuring out what Doctor to listen to. Please if there is anyone out there who can help me, please please help me figure out what's wrong with me!!!!

  • Try NAET- Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique. Even if you do not have allergies- this thing works on pain, cysts, tumors, cancer, etc. Find a Doctor of Oriental Medicine who is trained in NAET and ask if he/she can treat you. Best.Eatafruit78/

  • I had the same problem, finally I had a hysterectomy. 2 years after the symptoms came back-they did a ct scan and they found inflammation in my colon. My doctor did a colonoscopy and found nothing!! My doctor suggested irritable bowel disorder. I quit drinking milk and the symptoms stopped. Try cutting out everything (especially dariy) you eat except bland foods then introdue different items slowly, you may be allergic to certain foods and it shows up in your intestines.

  • Read up on adenomyosis and see if symptoms match. I had adenomyosis which caused with back pain, stomach pain and pelvic pain. It is very hard to diagnose and can sometimes be seen on an MRI but not always. I only got diagnosis after hysterectomy - after the pathology report came back. So even 24 hours after surgery, they still were not sure why all the pain. Then pathology report came in and it was adenomyosis. Also check pelvic floor myalgia - this can cause some really nagging pain - Also hard to get a diagnosis because most ob/gyn docs don't look for it. Check the American Pain Foundation website and see if you can find a doctor to help you. Keep researching your symptoms and don't give up. It took me two years to find a doctor that didn't think I was attention-seeking, drug-seeking, malingering, you name it. Good luck.

  • Your symptoms sound very, very similar to what I went through for YEARS! Most especially the great swelling - looking like you're ready for the 'Delivery Room', and the abdominal/naval area pain. A friend kept telling me to ask to be tested for "H Pylori Bacteria", which is the bacteria in the stomach that causes ulcers!! Finally, I did ask for this specific test and it was POSITIVE!!!You MUST take a regimen of THREE, VERY SPECIFIC, medications to cure the H Pylori infection. My drugs were Doxycycline (antibiotic)/ Prevacid -increased to twice daily/ Flagyl. I had to take two 'rounds' of this trio of drugs before I finally felt better. You can develop this infection over and over; know to get tested again when the swelling, etc. begins again. "Google" the H Pylori Bacteria, and see if the symptoms you find in your research information could relate to you. IF SO, ask your GP/PCP to test you for it...........test does NOT have to be done by any type of 'Specialist' Doc!!Wishing you relief, SOON!Sherry H

  • I am scheduled for a colonoscopy this week. Am I wasting my money? I'm 35 years old and have never had any symptoms like this before. Should I just settle with the gastrologist saying I have gas or continue to try and find out if something is wrong. This swelling is not normal to me and is very embarassing. It's making me want to hide from everyone. Please if anyone knows what's wrong or has ever heard of anything like this, please help. I've been tested for almost everything!   amanda912j
