Sir, I have an emotional problem. When I feel happy, excited for eg. while watching the performance of my favourite star on TV or listening to a good inspiring speech etc. tears roll out of my eyes and I start sobbing. This prevents me from talking also. This is very emberrassing while in other's company. What is the reason for this? Is it a desease? If so what is it called? unnics

  • The exact same thing happens to me. Even during a sitcom, I can get a lump in my throat. It is always something on TV, a song, or some kind of trigger for me to become weepy. It's not like I sit and boo hoo from just my thoughts. I'm not a sad person, depressed, and never been accused of being overly sensitive. Does this sound like what you experience?

  • Yes. It is similar. I too get a lump in my throat which prevents me from talking freely. I am not a melancholy person but the circumstances mentioned triggers on the tears.
