What is going on with me?

Okay, so here's the story. I am not sure what all is related and what is not so I will include it all. Hopefully someone out there has had similar symptoms and has figured it out. For as long as I can remember, I have had very achy muscles (especially my neck and shoulders), and joints like the Tin Man; I feel like I need some WD-40 to get my joints moving. My parents say they remember me talking about these things since I was about 13 or 14.

In the last year, my energy levels have gone down dramatically. Sometimes I can hardly handle going to work. I used to clean the house like crazy every weekend, now I am lucky if I have the energy to do the dishes. It is more so feeling weak & fatigued than it is tired or sleepy. In addition, I don't sleep well. I always knew that I woke up way too much throughout the night. I flip sides often because my neck gets sore & in addition to that I take about 3 hours to fall asleep and wake up a lot. I had a sleep study done and woke up 121 times in 7 hours. Tried all lifestyle changes for 6 months, now I take Ambien CR nightly. My sex drive has decreased quite a bit in the last year. For the last 3 or 4 months, I have had night sweats the 10 nights before my period every month, what I call "hot flashes" throughout the whole month where I suddenly get flushed & so hot that I cannot handle it. It has nothing to do with what I'm eating, drinking, or the temperature of the environment.

Also, in the last 3 or 4 months, I have had a difficult time swallowing/ a pretty sore throat. I've been tested for strept, etc. and all was negative. I found out I have a goiter & multiple nodules on my thyroid. The ultrasound found that the nodules were too small to test for anything, so I just get an annual ultrasound. My thyroid levels have been in the "normal" range, as well as the rest of my blood labs. I have had my vitamin D levels drop pretty low once, and was on prescription vit D until it was better. I have osteopenia, supposedly from being on depo-provera for 3 years. Based on all of my research, it all tends to point to thyroid stuff but I know my labs are considered "normal" and also I haven't had a thyroid scan.

In addition to all of this, I get migraines often (have since I was 12). I have extreme sinus pressure & aches behind my nose & eyes. I use a neti-pot every day, have used nasal sprays, and tried taking allergy meds and none of that helped. My ears and the area under them feel tight. My massage therapist said that my neck is so tight that my ears may not drain. I also have a bulged disk that causes back pain that keeps me from walking on some days and some nerve pain that starts on my right **** cheeck and goes down my leg a little bit. It's achy and strong. Sometimes it is tingly. I have seen 3 of the family md's at my md ofc, an endocrinologist, a rheumotologist, a neurologist, and I have an appointment with an ENT.

I can only hope that somebody here can help me. I cannot live my life like this.

  • Hi, thanks for responding. I take ambien CR at night & sometimes flexeril at night. I didn't take anything when all of this started. I've tried taking vit D, B12, BComplex, multivitamin, malic acid w/ magnesium, and fish oil. I don't think there's poison or anything around the house. My husband doesn't have any symptoms.
