What could this be?

For about a month now, most times when I am either reclined, resting, or asleep, I am having muscle spasms over my body, mostly my legs, arms, hands, and sometimes feet. The jumping of my muscles actually awakes me and I am so confused. I am not loosing muscle control throughout normal daily activities, but experience this when my body seems relaxed and at rest, and it happens daily now. Should I be concerned, am I lacking something in my diet, or could it be serious?

  • I've personally experienced this and through research and experimenting with natural alternatives found increasing my calcium/mag/vit d (especially if your protein intake is moderate to high) really helped. Then adding iron (taken with Vit C) virtually eliminated it. Allison allieis@msn.com

  • thank you all for your advice, all probably are correct. My diet isn't that great as I fluctuate taking the diet pill Phentermine, and this causes extreme loss of appetite. I had some undiagnosable back, side, and hip pain months ago and was tested for about everything possible and all of my blood work and test returned normal. I take Milk Thistle, Vit C, but probably need to experiment with other vitamin supplements. Again, I will take your advice, thanks to all.
