What's the NEXT treatment for plantar fasciitis?

The doctors say my feet are flat. I've used cushions, arch supports, cortisone shots, homemade splits, ice, tiger balm, salonpas pads..... what else?
The doctors now say I just need to change jobs (Wal-Mart cashier). Part of the problem is that my skin is sensitive and itches to adhesives, ice, and some material. Cortisone stopped working by the third series of shots.
Is there ANYTHING left to try?

  • I suggest finding a really good podiatrist who can address foot biomechanics and then a really good physical therapist because you will most likely need a longer term program of exercise, stretching and strengthening. They will also assess whether other parts of your body are contributing to the foot pain, through muscle imbalance or poor posture. Then you will need persistence! It can take a year or two to come good.
