Hey,

For the past three years I've been having chronic mouth and nose sores, chronic diarrhea, and a recurring (pretty much constant) yeast infection. These symptoms are as painful as they are embarrassing and I really want to figure them out so I can move on with my life.

I've been to many doctors, none of whom could find anything wrong or offer any advice. My immune system function is consistently normal and my hormones are fine. I also don't have any obvious food allergies. Eliminating lactose and soy has helped some, but has not gotten ride of my symptoms entirely.

I'm really at loss. Does anyone have an idea what this could be or what I can do to treat these symptoms? Any advice or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!

  • Hithis sounds like an autoimmune disease, but against what i can not say.perhaps celiac, although by now i am certain you have tried to elimnate gluten.what i would recommned is: go on a rice banana diet for a week, (you do have enough protein stored to last you months)and see if your symptoms clean up.if they do then start intorducing 1 (ONE) food at a time.and i would start with a vegetable, NOT a fruit, then another veggie. do not add any sugar to your diet.it does seem your body is having trouble with a certain food, a preservative, or a chemical.this is a hard one to figure out.also - have you tried 'acedophilus bacteria?' do read up on natural probiotics - other then in yogurthave you seen an endocrinologist? what about a naturopath?I am sorry I can advice only so little.hope this gives you some direction

And it took me 5 years of the medical -merry-go round to finally be diagnosed. Always your labs are normal nothing wrong. Mouth nose and stomach believe it or not are connected. chronic diarrhea is a condition refered to as leaking gut (lack of good bateria to digest the food properly) Or more common know as candidia. Candidia can also spead to your nasal passages & mouth as well causing constant inflation and erruptions. If left unchecked over a long period of time will lead to autoimmune desease. 1st step is finding a board certified Allergist/immonologist.They run the test normal doc's don't. Good luck

  • I was recently diagnosed with a thyroid disorder and my new endocrinologist is an MD who also believes in complimentary alternative medicine asked me lots of questions while diagnosing me and mentioned something I have never heard of until last week called candida. For me, my symptoms and bloodwork revealed Hashimotos hypothyroidism. While some of the symptoms are the same as this Candida. I do not have most and he ruled it out for me. From what my endocrinologist shared, Candida is mostly something that traditional MD's do not consider a condition and mostly alternative health providers or dietitians work with patients who suffer with these symptoms.I am a big, old skeptic but just looked it up last week since I had not heard of it. (came across this site with a whole diet plan http://www.thecandidadiet.com/) Again, being a skeptic, I dont know how I personally feel about the validity of this and the idea of some cleanse at the beginning seems unsound. BUT if people have found relief from symptoms similar to yours and the rest of the diet plan really just looks like balanced eating - though there are lots of foods cut out - you could still easily eat a healthful, balanced diet from that list of foods.Whatever you decide, good luck - hope you find some relief.

  • Were you ever referred to rheumatology for further evaluation? These sound like some fairly common sx of Lupus (autoimmune). While these are all possible symptoms, don't panic. There could be numerous causes, but AI sounds most likely with the constant yeast infections and sores in nose/throat.
