hello i maybe have one or more disorders which is/are a mixture of nervous system and mental disturbances, hormonal deficiencies and sun allergy.

since that started very suddenly some years ago, i have recurrent bouts of nausea, tachycardia, weakness, panic attack, shortness of breath, dizziness eg... which feels like low blood sugar (but isn`t nor diabetic neither low) and sometimes even if before collapsing if i don`t eat a lot and rest.
blood pressuere is almost always normal.
with eating many food the symptoms usually go better and subside with a duration between an hour to one day or sometimes even longer.
after checking my thyroid, tsh,ft3 and ft4 had normal to low results which definitely ruled out hyperthyroidism although i don`t put on weight easily.tsh was about 0,7234.

i also suspect hypogonadism and low reproductive hormones because my period have been irregular since i have got them and i have no ovarian cysts.

sun allergy started one year after the hypo glycemic like issue began and presents with short-lasting rashes resembling hives but with burning, itching and stinging like sunburn.
sometimes i get even some few burning wounds from sun which make scars, mild acne in face and bleeding under fingernails (the last point i had for my live in summers, since i am a child)
also my skin got a bit dry and sensitive to rubbing...

i have adhd issues since early childhood and later i have got other mental disturbances inbetween, which feel like being on drugs or having short paranoid flashes or depressions coming out of the blue.
i have almost always insight in them shortly after.

any idea what this could be and if symptoms could be related?

thx for reading and have a nice day ;)

  • addison`s disease explains most of ur symptoms.. check ur cortisol levels n let me know d resultshello arjun4thank you for the fast reply and the suggestion.i once had my cortisol levels checked a year or so ago, i think it was nothing really abnormal but i don`t have the results here.i have just searched the web for addisons disease and i found out that some symptoms are quite fitting, others not but the disease is quite rare i also read.i thought more of something more common...-muscle weakness (+)-fatigue (-)-low blood pressure (-)-loss of weight (-) /on the low side of normalweight but not easily gaining or losingother symptoms from time to time are constipation, light headedness, eye twitches,insomnia,...which also could be explainded by ad.do you know if addisons disease can be caused by smoking because i was a smoker in former times and symptoms firstly started after some months of nicotin dependency.and often after smoking a cigarette i felt quite nauseous, shaky and like poisened.now i have quit smoking some time ago and it has gotten a bit better with my symptoms, at the moment i also have only few symptoms like sometimes mild panic attacks inbetween.this often changes.and how do you make a full check-out for cortisol?which tests must be done (only saliva or blood too)?thx mrssmart :)

  • helloi have done diagnostic tests for addisons disease.cortisol, dhea, natrium and potassium in blood came back normal.also the saliva test for cortisol showed nothing abnormal.but i must say that i felt quite normal most of the time for the past weeks.think i`ll maybe repeat the test when i don`t feel very well, although the dr said it would maybe be all imagination, because there were no results. :(also had an appointment at the pdoc some time ago, he finally diagnosed me with adult adhd, which i think fits best for my mental problems (had adhd typical symptoms since childhood and they are chronic).he will bring me on a low dose of mph soon, but with a lot of care, because i have other psychiatric issues like intercurrent panic problems, suspected bi-polar and psychotic thoughts from time to time.think i will try this medication out, although i am a bit sceptical of drugs, especially for mental disease.but i think that my concentration, motivation and ability to decide things must get better soon, because of doing better in learning a job and managing life. at the moment i only take some nutritional supps.another topic are my skin problems, they got better as summer went by.but i still have some minor scars from the wounds, pictures you find here (this is some months older and was taken in summer)http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=699&d=1285700044anyone with the same issue?thank you for repliesyours mrssmart ;)

  • @arjunthat doesn`t say that my bad situations are only imagination, they are NOT because they get better with eating a lot and sometimes are real bad.although they get better inbetween they are no fun at all.or do you think it is normal to get burning wounds on skin!!??i BET that there will be results if i do cortisol testings when i am not feeling very well, there are also other cortisol problems existing, not only addisons.the adhd diagnosis maybe right, but mph caused me depression so far.that i have mental diseases does not mean that it is all in my head (that is ignorant mass thinking), because i have effects which have to do with food.

  • It sounds like reactive hypoglycemia. I would guess that most of the time you are fine. But some days things go a little haywire, especially 2-4 hours after breakfast. You eat a little cereal or something in the morning then go off to your day. 2-4 hours later you start to feel "off" followed by dizziness, inability to concentrate, light-headedness, shakes, fast heartbeat, irritability, flushing, etc. You eat something, and are fine until the next time. Try eating 2-3 times in the morning, something small. Also try to add some protein to those early morning meals. Just watch the calories. It is easy to take in way more than you intended. Good luck, hope this helps.
