You know how it feels when your skin chafes? Like when your thighs are rubbing together or something like that? Well, I have that feeling INSIDE from the groin area to right above my navel. It's getting worse & moving higher.

The doc I saw 2 weeks ago (it wasn't nearly this bad then) said it was stress-induced gastrointestinal problems. He also gave me a prescription for clidinium but that hasn't helped, either.

I tried a bottle of magnesium citrate yesterday to attempt a "clean-out" but that didn't seem to help.

Anybody ever heard of INTERNAL chafing? I can't find anything about it in any book or on any web site.

  • Stressed, yes. Burning, no.I know stress can do weird things to your body. I don't tend to worry about things, though, so I don't "feel" stressed. There is no other word to describe it. It's not painful & it's not itching & it's not burning. I can put my hands on my hips or pull on a pair of pants & feel the irritation. I can't see anything wrong with my skin - no rash, no redness, nothing.

  • You can ask for the Varicella Zoster Virus antibody test, along with the herpes 2 test. Some times there is no visible outbreak, but you feel it.ARUP's Laboratory Test Directory0050162: Varicella-Zoster Virus Antibodies, IgG & IgM
