I keep getting a bacterial infection and a urinary tract infection and when I go to the doctor they give me antibiotics but two weeks later the infections will be back. I take the entire amount that I'm supposed to when I'm supposed to. This has been going on for a couple years and the doctors I see don't seem to have an answer. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I have a white film that covers my gum's at the end of the day or when i wake up even though I brush, floss and rinse everyday, sometimes my gum's hurt, I've started to get horrible pains in my sides that 100 mil of tramadol won't even touch and my sleeping habits have gone out the window. Sometimes I'll sleep for 16 hours and sometimes I don't go to bed for days. Obviously alot of this stuff might not have one thing to do with the other but I figured I'd add it in just in case it helps.

Please help. Someone told me that It could either be a bacterial infection that's stuck in my urinary tract that the antibiotics aren't getting or kidney problems but the doctors don't listen to me. They just keep handing out the antibiotics.

  • Did they do any cultures/Tests? Have you had any sores or rashes anywhere on your body? have you noticed any swelling/nodes around your waist line/hip level? What Antibiotics did they give you?If you feel to the bottom of your ribs on the front of your body and then pound your back on either side of your spine at the same height is it painful? That would indicate kidney involvement, and could be proteus spp.

  • I was hospitalized today for extreme pain. I was hardly able to move without crying and breathing was hard. When I got to the hospital they did a general exam and asked if there was pain in certain places. The doctor just barely touched my back and I burst into tears. He took a urine sample and asked me questions. I told him about the UTI and BV I thought I had and he immediately said something about my kidney. Last night after I wrote this I found some info and that's what I went in there saying I thought I had. Kidney Infection. Thank you inernet! I was given pain medication and antibiotics through an IV and when the tests came back from the urine sample he said that it confirmed the Kidney Infection diagnoses. He said it's really bad. I have ten days of the antibiotics then I'll make another appointment to make sure it's really gone. If you're interested in finding out if it comes back I'll post but if not, thanks for your answers.BTW, yes, all those were done. I still have no answer from the doctor on why it was recurring. The only thing he said was that it wasn't completely taken care of everytime.
