Weight gain - no idea what is causing it

Have had unexplained rapid weight gain over the past 6 weeks. Have gained 12lbs in that times (average 2lbs a week).

Have had full bloods done, only abnormality is below detectable levels of TSH (thyroid stimulating hormones). All other thyroid levels normal.

Have been exercising and keeping a food diary and am eating the right amount to maintain weight.

Have been to 3 doctors and they have no idea.

Can anyone please help?

And am not eating at night (sleep eating).

  • Sometimes "low normal" hormone levels are actually right on the line and could be interpreted as below normal. Look up the hypoparathyroid symptoms and see if you match any more besides weight gain.
