My eyes water for no reason what so ever and it is so emabarrassing! I'll be talking to someone and my eyes will start watering like I'm about to cry. It even happened to me during a job interview! Does anyone else have this problem and been treated for it? What did you do for it?

  • My father has the same problem... Its very annoying.. He went to the eye Dr. and they did a procedure and not sure what it is called. It helped him for a year or so and now its back and he refuses to go.. But I think an eye Dr. can help you.. If you find anything out, I would love to know, thanks..:)

  • I have the same difficulty. I don't know what causes it and I too am looking for relief. It can occur at the most inopportune times and not always in predictable situations but nearly always embarrassing. I now avoid many social situations for fear that I will begin to tear up. I sort of think it is related to anxiety, a function of the sympathetic nervous system, just like heightened heartrate, respiration, perspiration and bushing. I think it's a normal part of having an elevated level of nervousness, anxiety, or even just attention. So the more I worry about it, the more it happens. I have even seen a therapist to try to understand why it was happening and try to get a handle on reducing the symptoms. But, it is hard to isolate my many mental health / emotional concern from this one.Good luck.

  • My right eye has been watering practically nonstop for two months. My eye doctor prescribed four different antibiotic drops and an ointment to use at night -- pretty yucky -- anyway, nothing worked -- UNTIL he prescribed Ofloxacin and Prednisolone, one drop of each four times/day. The watering has stopped, and the swelling has gone away. This has been such a relief!
