I have a number of symptoms that have only gotten worse since around October 2008. I have had increasingly worse constipation and I'm almost 100% sure that I am retaining water. I am very active and eat healthy, especially compared to most of my friends and co-workers. I have gained a good 15-20 lbs. over the course of the past 7 months. To this date I have seen 2 different doctors and will be seeing a new doctor on the 21st. I have had my thyroid tested 3 separate times over the course of the past 3 months and it has come back normal every time. I have also been tested for diabetes and that test came back normal as well. I have other symptoms that include muscle weakness and I sleep terribly; therefore I'm exhausted all the time. I just wanted to see if anyone else on here had experienced any of these other symptoms and could offer any helpful advice. Thanks!

  • wondering if you had any luck in a diagnosis? I have a toddler that has the exact same symptoms and I can't find anyone to listen or help.

Poor you, as someone who has been to ***l and back with constipation and sickness, and now has no colon at 34, all because I wasnt diagnosed properly, i would say if its regarding your child, take them back to a diff GP, make them listen, GP's are general practioneers and very general at that. My life has been ruined, severe constipation is not normal for anyone who eats healthy. Weight gain & water retention would be linked to the bowel problems, if your body does not empty properly, it retains harmful chemicals that end up poisoning your system & making you poorly. If you are not eating more & are putting on weight with your thyroid being normal then its more than likely because your colon isnt emptying properly. I dont know why GP's have to make everything such a struggle in this day and age.....if they dont listen shout louder. Never give up on what you believe to be wrong. You deserve proper care:confused:
