i am having fever for the last six months and my montoux test showed 18*18 induration after 48 hours. my x ray showed bilateral nvb + what does bilateral nvb + means

  • bilateral stands for both sides. in TB the chest xray is looking for lung 'tubercles' = bacteria surrounded by white blood cells keeping the bacteria in check.I'm not familiar with nvb. Probably some kind of abnormality on you xray. TB is indicated by white fuzzy circles in the upper lung lobe if i remember correctly.

  • I think it means neurovascular bundle,but I'm not sure how that would apply to you.Your skin test is strongly +.Do you engage in high-risk behaviors such as IV drug use?Do you work in a high-risk profession?Do you take steroids?Did you come to this country from one with prevalent TB?
