please help me, my friend is a heroin addict and day before yesterday decided to quit, we went to a methadone clinic the last two nights but other than that it's cold turkey. This morning he started vomiting blood. He used to smoke the Heroin and sometimes K (horse tranquilisers) so he has been coughing really badly too i don't know if that triggered it? It hasn't happened again but it was quite a lot of blood and I'm really worried. We can't go to the hospital cos he spent the last of it on a hit friday morning. His lungs and chest feel really tight and his muscles and bones ache (i know theses are typical reactions to comming off H) ..but is there anything i can do to relieve the pain? i get payed tomorrow so I'll take him to the hospital but we're in Hong Kong so any advice would make me feel a bit more at ease.
Thank you
This site has been very informative and a great help to many i'm sure
take care and God bless
Sincerely
nita

  • I really am glad to hear that your friend decided to quite. Your friend does need to go to the doctor. I dont know where you live, post more info, I will try to find out about any place where you can get help for your friend trying to quite. The only case that I know of, when anyone coughs up blood's when a person has lung cancer, but hopefully Im wrong. Anyhow good luck with everything. Keep in mind that there are people out there that care about others, have faith in God, remember that he loves you and pray so your friend can have the will to quite drugs, it will be a hard road but Im sure your fiend can pull it off specially with such a good friend. I will kept you and your friend in my prayers. God bless you.

  • Im glad to hear your friend quite. Just keep the faith in the lord he'll guide him through this rough time. You should go to a good Dr. ASAP K throwing up blood is a sign of an ulser. My husband went through almost the same thing and thats what he ended up having. Hope he gets better.;)
