I have heard that my aunt in Indiana is sick - she has a swollen neck and bloodshot eyes, has been going on for over a year. I saw her for the first time in two years yesterday, and it was unreal - I didn't have any idea how horrible of a condition she is in, and something is terribly wrong. It isn't just a little swollen - her entire neck on the left side going all the way up into her jaw is *completely* swollen, and her eyes are bloodshot and yellowed, almost jaundiced looking, but more red than anything. She has had 3 different doctors, bloodwork, cat scans, needles stuck in her neck to withdraw fluid, and no one can seem to figure out what is wrong. SOMETHING is wrong - big, big wrong - she is a little person, maybe size 6, and is healthy, takes care of herself, exercises and always has - I wish I had a picture of her to post to show how horrible this looked. She was just beautiful before this, and looks unbelievable now - like she has been through a war. I have done google searches all day and can't come up with anything - they thought it was Kawasaki's disease at first, but ruled that out.

  • There are many many causes of such swelling. I would have a look here: http://symptoms.wrongdiagnosis.com/cosymptoms/generalized-edema/neck-symptoms.htm
