Hi everyone,
I am a 21 year old male and have spent more time than I care to remember looking for answers to my health problems. After I have been to the ER a few times and have been dismissed by various doctors, being told it's all in my head and one even suggested that I am making it up. Here is what I am experiencing, if anyone has any ideas please let me know!:

-Constipation for as long as I can remember.
-Chest pains, over the heart, since 2006. Intermediated, it reaches around to the side and back at times.
-Sharp stomach pains and discomfort since 2007. Discomfort most of the time, pains at varying times.
-Reflux, bloating, dizziness, uncoordinated feeling since 2008. All of these symptoms are constantly occurring.
-"Brain fog" started in 2008, continued to get worse until now where it is constantly there, slight relief in the mornings. I can barely concentrate most of the day.
-Wheezing, particularly during the cold and when exposed to dust.
-Jolts of pain down my left side occur at varying times.
-Painful tingling and "pins and needles" occurring recently in legs, feet and arms.

I have had these tests:
- Various blood tests.
- Celiac disease blood test (NEGATIVE).
- Stomach ultrasound.
- Chest X-Ray.
- AlaTOP (REACTIVE).
- Thyroid function test (GOOD).
- Hep A (NEGATIVE).
- Hydrogen breath test (POSITIVE - Lactose Intolerance).
- Colonoscopy (GOOD).
- Gastroscopy (Slight Irritation and redness at junction).
- Various EKGs
- EEG.

The only things I have got from these test are: Nexium tablets, which I stopped taking as they made me feel generally unwell and sick, and to stop eating dairy products.
Things are getting worse and I feel as though my life will never get better and will never be fun again so long as this continues!

Thanks for any help, guys.

  • Hi there,I am by no means a doctor, but have studied sports science and nutrition at university and have done a fair amount of personal study into alternative medicines including homeopathy, herbal medicine and the like. It sounds like a lot of your conditions are related to some kind of food intolerance. I too had a lot of these symptoms before conducting personal research into dietary considerations. I discovered that certain foods were giving me constipation, migraines, saw muscles, very poor memory (and brain fog) etc.. Food intolerances can easily lead to severe conditions over a period of time. There is a lot of research to suggest that a change of diet can do miraculous things such as averting cancer (even in people who have been diagnosed witih it), gall stones, many psychological disorders etc. The added benefit is that unlike all the other treatments you have sought most alternative medicines will not in any way harm your body through experimentation. I suggest you see a naturopath who can do non-invasive testing to ascertain whether you have food allergies or intolerances and despite what a lot of people think some small dietary and/or lifestyle changes can make a massive difference to a person´s health. And unfortunately the health sector often comes up with health fads like gluten allergies and dairy allergies and most people think that these are the only food allergies/intolerances usually experienced. Many foods contain natural chemicals that certain people cannot tolerate and are most often ignored. So long story short you should definitely get that checked out, because that was the first thing that sprung to my mind as soon as I read your symptoms, and hey it can´t hurt to try! :)

  • My husband and I were going through the same thing as you for months. Doctors thought we were crazy because all tests came out negative. I hope this will help you like it did for us. Its a life changing experience to atleast know what was wrong with us. We are still sick but not as bad, we are going to start our treatment next week. Its a horrible feeling when you feel so sick and no one can help you or do not believe you. Please read these websites, it might be an answer to your problems. I would have your apartment or home tested for its air quality. You might be exposed to mold at home or your job. Mold can give off harmful toxins that can make you very ill with various symptoms which is why its so hard to diagnose. I really hope this helps.http://www.mold-help.org/http://www.mold-survivor.com/submenu1.htmlHi everyone, I am a 21 year old male and have spent more time than I care to remember looking for answers to my health problems. • First Unregistered: Food intolerance is something that I have suspected as well, but has been dismissed. I have been having trouble finding a naturopath to help me though.Second Unregistered: I know an STI is not the case.Chevy2413: I have not thought about that before, I have had a spirometry which is mentioned on the website and that was normal. I have just moved house recently, so I will see if there is any difference.
