I am 16 years old and about 5 months ago I started feeling dizziness, increased heart rate, high blood pressure, fatigue, weakness, unrestful sleep, sensitivity to light and heat. I originally was diagnosed with having mono, but recent blood tests have proven that I never had mono. All of my blood tests came back normal and no doctor can figure out what is wrong. I am scheduled with a cardiologist for next week to have further heart tests done, but a recent EKG and chest xray showed nothing abnormal. I went from being active and running and working out 5 days a week to barely being able to stand up off the couch. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong? Thanks.

  • I can't say what is wrong, but I can say the same thing had happened with me in 7th grade.I was so fatigued, and exhgausted. Everytime I stood up my eyes blacked out for along time. They said I might've had mono, but nothing was fully diagnosed. I went to the hosptial to get my heart checked out, and they said everything looked fine. For a month and a half I was out of school. I slowly got back into school taking half days until I was fully back to a normal state. They recommended me to get more salt in my system, and it helped. I had to drink stuff with salt in it constantly, like gaterade. I did, and I got better. I kept drinking stuff with salt in it for a next months too. So that's my recommendation, but I'm no doctor, it just sounds like you have the same thing I had.

  • I guess I might try that too as I've been feeling constant fatigue. Even though I don't really like the taste of gatorade.. I'd do anything to start feeling better.
