  • Hi, I suffered from something similar for several years after the birth of my third child in my mid-thirties. I have been cured for over five years, and it was life changing. It turned out to be an intercellular yeast infection. Due to the fact that I had never had a typical yeast infection in my life, I never suspected that this horrible condition was something as simple as a yeast infection -- it was actually a form of candida. Initially my Conventional Medicine Ob-Gyn thought it was a yeast infection and had me tested for it. The test came back negative as this form of yeast infection does not show on the typical office test. After seeing several top physicians, no one had an answer for me and then finally I luckily stumbled upon a proper diagnosis. I don't want you to think that this is what you have, but you might want to eliminate the possibility. However, most Conventional Physicians do not believe in this diagnosis, you will need to find an Alternative Medicine Ob-Gyn who specializes in Candida and request to have a test performed by the Great Smoky Laboratory which will show if your body is abundant in bad bacteria over your good bacteria which is what will cause these symptoms. This test is expensive ($300 several years ago) and not covered by insurance. I have read how a lot of women who suffer from similar symptoms will get vaginal shots of steroids (ouch!) to reduce inflammation; however, candida feeds on steroids so although the patient will usually have a false sense of immediate relief from the swelling, a few days later the symptoms will come back more intensified as the candida feeds off any form of steroid leaving the patient frustrated. This message is so long, but if your interested in knowing what helped me, let me know and I'll post it later.

  • Hello Ladies, I also would recommend that you find the right OBG-YN. I was diagnosed incorrectly for years(about 20 years). The Pharmacist that I used actually questioned my sexual activities(HE made a smart remark). I was constantly given medications for yeast infections by a male OBG-YN. I finally went to an excellent female doctor(obg-yn). She informed me that I had Bacterial Vaginitis. I have a very good sense of smell and now know my body enough to tell the difference between the two. I was also told by my doctor that after attending a seminar she had obtained new information that has helped me maintain my bodys vaginal chemical balance. The secret for me is to use half hydrogen peroxide and half water douch after sex(my husband and I are very sexually active 1-2 times a day every day) and menstrual. Keep trying to find the correct doctor for you. Get one that you can get comfortable with and can talk to openly. I did and my doctor will even request blood work if I think something is wrong(within her medical scope). I would ask girlfriends, your daughter, anyone you can talk to openly. It could be something more serious. Good LuckTheresa64
