I have all the symptoms of genital herpes with the tingling prior to the onset of an outbreak except the blisters are white and not clear or red, do not crust over and are continuous. It is twelve years since I have had sexual contact. Can anyone help diagnose this?

  • you did not mention other symptoms, like joint pain or fatigue, Sounds like it maybe autoimmune in nature. may want to check a rhuematologist.....good luck

  • If you are concerned enough you really should go to your gynecologist and have him/her check it out. make the time.

  • Ladies, have your doc test you for HHV6 which is a form of herpes simplex. It usually appears as cold sores or fever blisters but others in this forum have complained of these blisters as well. Hope this helps, mommy cat:)

  • I couldn't find anything except herpes under "vaginal blisters", but I know a young girl who had them and they diagnosed a viral blister xanthem. Anyway, go to the gynecologist.

  • "herpes" virus never fully leaves the body. It has active and inactive states. For instance, when you have a cold sore(a form of herpes virus) it is active, but when the cold sore is gone the virus is still present but hiding deep inside your cells. Stress is one thing that can cause it to become active. Even if it has been 30 years you could still have a episode.

  • PLEASE READ....MIGHT SAVE YOU TIME, A LOT OF PAIN AND MONEY....I KNOW IT IS LONG BUT I THINK IT WILL BE HELPFUL.I had about 6 VAGINAL BLISTERS that were very painful......I 1st went to my ob/gyn and they did not know what they were, they popped some and took a culture. It was negative for all STDs. Immediatly they turned into ulcers the size of nickels.....I returned to the ob/gyn 3 days later saw they same Dr and 1 other....1st they both said that it did not appear to be herpes but with no other answer they called it herpes, gave me meds and took more cultures and did blood work. Still 3 day later all test were normal....Saw yet 1 more OB/GYN and was told it was herpes.....She did another culture which once again came back normal. She also gave me more meds and said that I would have the sores for aleast 4 weeks.....well 4 days later the sore were about all healed (some signs of possible scaring). Through this whole ordeal and 2 weeks prior (4 weeks total) I was and am having flu like symptoms (WHICH CAN BE CAUSED BY HERPES) AND had hives which turned into welts 2 days prior to the blisters on my vagina appeared. I went to my Rheumatologist 3 1/2 weeks into illness and had blood work done and went to my general Dr and was diagnosed with a sinus infection.....SHE ALSO DID NOT THINK I HAD HERPES. Well 6 days later I thought I relapsed on the sinus infection so I returned to my general Dr. (2 days ago).....She had just received part of my blood work done from my Rheumatologist and told be that I do have a different virus than herpes the virus' name is Human Parvovirus B19 (not the same as in dogs) it is also known as Fifth Disease. Also the alkaline levels in my blood are high and today I will be getting an ultrasound on my liver to check for cirrhosis. I have been checked for most hepatitis' but the parvovirus can induce hepatitis. Please have test run....liver failure can be fatal. BOTTOM LINE DO NOT TAKE THE WORD OF DRS....INSIST ON A WHOLE PANEL OF BLOOD WORK TO BE DONE.......I AM POSTING THIS BECAUSE MY 1ST INSTINCT WAS THAT I NEEDED TO SEE MY RHEUMATOLOGIST FOR THE FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS BY WENT TO HIM A WEEK LATER BECAUSE OF THE VAGINAL BLISTERS AND WENT TO =THE OB/GYN 1ST........I COULD HAVE AVOIDED A LOT OF PAIN AND SAVE A LOT OF MONEY IF I WOULD OF WENT TO THE RHEUMATOLOGIST 1ST.
