vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain

I have heavy periods, heavy bleeding between periods, and sharp pelvic pain for the last year. I have been to an OB/GYN who did an ultrasound and laparoscopy to look for endometriosis, etc. She said she found nothing. I have been on 4 different birth control pills in the last year and nothing has helped. I have been reading a lot about adenomyosis (uterine lining growing into the muscle tissue) and heard it is hard to diagnose. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about adenomyosis and if this is a possibility. Or does anyone have any other ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(I'm 23 years old and have only had one sexual partner 3 years ago and tested negative for STDs)
