I am a 35 year old female and have started having upper stomach pain ( it comes and goes) that radiates across the top of my stomach right under my rib cage. I had my gallbladder taken out in 2007 and since then I've had no problem accept some foods and coffee running right through me. About 3 days ago I had an attack right after I ate that put me in tears and sent me to the ER. It felt like my gallbladder attacks use to feel. They said maybe a gas bubble? I haven't had a bowel movement since the day I went to the ER no matter what I eat. I do get very bad heartburn and following the ER i went to my DR who said maybe its a combination of slight gas and the acid reflux.
Does anyone have any ideas? The pain and not knowing is driving me crazy.:(

  • It could be a sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. http://www.hopkins-gi.org/GDL_Disease.aspx?CurrentUDV=31&GDL_Disease_ID=7AB086B0-AB01-446E-B011-2E67CAFEF96D&GDL_DC_ID=320F4EDD-0021-4952-83D7-8B0C67B47BFFor http://www.ddc.musc.edu/public/problems/diseases/pancreas/sphincterOddi.cfm
