Since August of '09 I began having problems wherein I would get pressure and burning mostly in the left side of my upper abdomen, in the center of my chest and in between my shoulder blades. Since August it has gotten progressively worse where the pressure is so extreme that most of the day I feel like I can not breathe or at least take a deep breath and the burning comes and goes throughout the day. I had an endoscope done in September which showed a hernia and gastritis and also in September I had an ultrasound of my gallbladder in addition to a hydascan and they said everything looked fine there. I continued to have pain so someone suggested a chiropractor to see if it was an issue with my back, he felt I had a pinched nerve in my neck and treated me with respect to that diagnosis and most of the adjustments and treatment focused primarily on my neck. In the meantime my regular doctor did an abdominal CT scan on me as I continued to have this pain, she said there were no masses nor abnormalities noted. The chiropractor then ordered an MRI of my head and neck and the results of that were no pinched nerve in the neck and only a slightly protruding disc on the right side of the neck which my doctor stated would not be causing any of my symptoms. To make sure that nothing was going on with my heart I received a full cardiac workup in which the resting portion I failed so the cardiologit performed a heartcath just to be on the safe side and everything looked fine no blockages, per the cardiologist. I recently began seeing a different gastro doctor who performed a second endoscope and reconfirmed the hernia and added that I have several erosions in my stomach. I am at a complete loss as they have tried me on four different medications for my stomach but the pain just stays there every day constant, extreme pressure mostly on the upper left side of the body but sometimes all throughout my upper body including upper abdomen, chest and in between shoulder blades and I now have been experiencing headaches to go along with all of the other bizarre symptoms. I don't know how to continue on like this everyday but don't have much of an option right now and at this point my trust is in the Lord and not in the doctors but if there is anyone out there that has had similar symptoms and/or problems any advice as to what your diagnosis was and how they treated you to alleviate the pain would be graciously appreciated.

I have severe pressure in my upper body. I can feel it in my abdomen, middle of my back, shoulders, and neck it goes into my head and face which gives me headaches and it also goes down into each arm. There are days when it it so bad in my head I cannot think clearly and it feels like I am going to pass out. I have had several people tell me its a pinched nerve in my spine so my doctor ordered some X-rays they came back beautiful so he will not pursue an mri or ct I do have an appointment for a sonogram of my stomach scheduled for next weekend. I am just like you I get up everyday and have to deal with these symptoms and it is an awful way to live. I keep praying the Lord will reveal what is going on with me but to this day I don't even know what is causing this. I try to work with these symptoms and there are days when I sit at my desk with tears in my eyes because the pressure is so bad. I don't know how long ago you wrote this but I am praying since you did you have found an answer. I am hoping we can stay in touch and lean on each other for support until I hear from you take care... God Bless,Treena

God Bless,TreenaHello Treena, I posted this back in December and no I have yet to be diagnosed with what the issue is. I still experience the same symptoms and as you said I too feel the pressure in my entire upper body and it also radiates into my arms, neck and face and I too get bad headaches to go along with it. I think in this day and age of technology that it is a sad thing when they can not figure out what the problem is and I truly feel like the doctors just play "hot potatoe" with me, shuffling me back and forth because everyone says they don't know what else to do for me. Because of the attitude of my current doctors and lack of effort on their part to try to figure me out I have made the decision to go out of town to Cleveland Clinic to seek help; I am scheduled to go to Cleveland and see a Gastro specialist week after next and I'm praying that this will be the answer but in the same breath I'm so very skeptical about the trip simply due to the fact that not one of my local doctors have been able to help. I'm hoping that whatever is wrong with me is nothing critical, as I can't imagine that if it were something life threatening that I would not have already killed over as long as I have been hurting and dealing with this, since Sept of 2009. I always find myself looking up and saying "Lord, I know you know exactly what it is and what needs to be done so please just guide the doctors to the answer". I truly identify and sympathize with you because walking around every day with so much pressure and burning and feeling like you'll pass out is no way to live and is completely miserable. Please keep in touch and I'll make sure to keep in touch thru this web portal and hopefully if either of us are ever properly diagnosed we can share in the blessing so that the other can also get help. Thanks so much for posting a reply, I so very much hate to hear that you are in the same boat but the Lord works in all ways and maybe you and I finding one another on this posting is His way of helping to solve both of our issues. I'll remember you in my prayers every night and I will make sure to post about the results of my trip to Cleveland. By the way I was also told that it was possibly a pinched nerve and after X-rays and 2 MRI's was told there was not any in either my neck or thoracic spine. You keep and I'll keep praying and hopefully the Lord will see fit to heal us both. Concern and prayers, Tara

God Bless,TreenaHey there Treena, I tried posting once but unsure if it took it so here I go again. First let me say that I'm so very sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same symptoms because I'm sure you well know it is miserable and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. My original post was back in December but I have been having problems since Sept. of '09 and still have all of the exact same problems with no answer from my local doctors. I have decided that finding out what is wrong is crucial, for me personally, so I have made an appointment at Cleveland Clinic for the middle of this month and am scheduled to see a gastro specialist and if he can't figure it out I'll ask him to refer me to someone else there that hopefully can help. I truly hope that the Lord can guide the doctor in Cleveland to the answer. I still have all of the same symptoms and as you said it is no life and I too have sat at my desk and cried many days while trying to get thru my work day. I'm so glad that we found each other on this posting and I'll make sure to post and let you know the results of my trip to Cleveland. Hopefully if the Lord sees fit to guide the doctors so that either of us receive a conclusive diagnosis we can share that blessing with one another and help one another. Hope to hear back from you soon and I'll make sure to pray for you each and every day. Concern and prayers, Tara
