All my life I have experience severe muscle twitching and spasms in my torso and arms when trying to fall asleep and while asleep, waking myself up. I have been to several neurologists who are not able to diagnose/help as they seem only familiar with Restless Leg Syndrome. I not have any symptoms in my legs and the twitching is always in my upper body. The fatigue and exhaustion brought on by little, interupted sleep is adversely impacting me and taking a tool on my abilty to function (work, etc) day-to-day. If any one has any suggestions as to what this may be and / or what I should tell a doctor I would appreciate it.

  • Hi! My boyfriend had similar, though lower body spasms too.Always after falling asleep, many times a night. He saw several doctors and all the did was give him sleep medication, but fortunately my bf diagnosed himself before it was too late. Now he has epilepsy medication and is able to sleep. Perhaps you should ask your doctor if it is the same with you?
