Hi again.
I posted about having my bowel cut in June of 07 and going septic and having some serious symptoms since then just to remind you of who I am.
I went to the immunologist and she ran a boat load of blood tests, some of the results have me a little confused and she is out of the office till next Wednesday.

First my vitamin d level is only 8.1, they started me on 2000 I.U per day. Does anyone know what causes this, I can not find anything on line aside from lack of exposure to sun light.

Ok the blood results that I have no idea what they could mean are....

Absolute CD3 it is high 2637
Absolute CD4 Helper High 1584
Abs. CD 8 Suppresor High 1053

my white count is 10.9 which is lower then it has been.(not confused about this one)

Cholesterol is High t I am not confused about this either

Sed rate is high @ 65
Aldolase High 8.9 (have no idea what this one is either)
Complement C3 serum High 215.

She also sent me for Pulminary Function Tests which apparently came back very bad and she is sending me to a Pulminologist, I have that appointment on Feb. 27.

My symptoms are still the same, muscle aches and fatigue. Weakness in arms and legs..short of breath palpitations. I get every cold imaginable if someone sneezes a block away I get sick. Pain in the incisions and severe pain in the lower right, where there is no incision,(which I have had since the colostomy was reversed and no one knows why, it gets worse at times, almost unbearable)

Any information especially on the top set of results, the CD 3 4 and 8 I would relaly appreciate!

Thank you again!

  • Yes, I have had a number of ct scans, Mris, X-rays and ultra sounds. Occasionally I am getting unexplained fluid sacs they they just atribute to so many surgeries in a short time, but no instruments or anything.

  • hi.. i think i remember you and i think i may of suggested for you to look into CFS in case that was triggered off via your surgery. If nothing else pans out i think you still should keep this in mind but you really need to fix your D deficiency first. There is commonly abnormalities with CD4/CD8 in CFS/ME (usually something wrong with the ratio with these). Most with CFS do have issues with their vitamin D. Some with this have wrong ratios of D2 and D3 and others are just low in D. In my case with this illness my D2 is at normal level (we get D2 from sun) but my body doesnt convert this properly to D3.. active D (or it's used in some unnormal process so faster than a well persons is) so my D3 is very low. If ones D is very low .. taking 2000 IUs per day can take AGES to get it back up to good levels. The hospital gave me a mega dose of 50 000 IUs of vitamin D to take in one time (and my level wasnt even as low as yours is).. and now I take a mega dose of it monthly. .......... Doctors are only just realising the importance of good D levels and there is currently talk by specialists of getting the daily recommended allowance of vitamin D raised. Most doctors are not aware either of the many effects that D deficiency can cause. Muscle aches and weakness and many other symptoms (D is also important for our immunity) can be caused just by D deficiency. So maybe all your issue is just a D deficiency by itself???? I suggest to rule this issue out by getting a much larger dose of D to bring your D levels up to normal as soon as possible to see if that removes some of your symptoms. (be aware thou that you may have to keep supplementing it to keep it in right range if you cant correct things just by being in sun more)............ those other findings thou i havent heard of being in CFS/ME. I hope you find your answers soon.
