I'll try to keep this short. I'm hopeful that smeone can recommend further tests or provide insight if you've experienced a similar situation. First, around the first of the year, I fell down a flight of stairs & hit my head. The MIR showed no negative findings. About one week later I was put on 50 mg Topamax for migranes (which had been an ongoing situation, not a result of the fall). In January I lost 14 lbs & had generalized weakness particularly in my upper arms. Lab results showed iron deficiency anemia. I was put on iron. In Feb, I lost another 9 lbs & my Topamax was reduced to 25 mg. I had previously been diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis (about 2 yrs earlier). In late Feb, I had my eophagitis diliated again. My weight loss stablized at about 25 lbs in two months. My weakness was so significant I would not complete a full day of work. During this time they found intermitent anemia, a high platelet count, three cysts on my thyroid (they don't believe are an issue), a growth on near my voice box (again preliminary opinion is that it isn't an issue). Although my weight loss has stopped, I continue with asthmatic like wheezing episodes and generalized weakness. Walking for a half mile is too much for me, I feel like I am going to collapse. I'm scheduled for a nuclear stress test and an ultrasound of my thyroid. I'm not sure what else they should be checking. This problem has been ongoing for almost three months and I'm not feeling as though there's been much resolution. If anyone has experienced a similar situation, I'd like to hear about your diagnosis or testing.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
