Hello, I have been experiencing some, well alot of joint pain for over a year. It was sudden onset, with what looked to be ganglion cysts. It started in my second month of boot camp and with in two days. I had three ultrasound treatments which seemed to work. A month later the pain and swelling was back in my right arm, along with some "cysts". Was sent to see the surgeon, no cysts. Since then the pain has started in both my ankles, both wrists, knees, elbows and has started in my shoulders and hips. I cannot do anything but extremely light exercise, even walking around a mall in comfy shoes makes me swell and ache from ankles to knees. I limit my writing and everything. Nothing seems to help. My pinky's seems to hurt the most, I have decreased flexibility in my hands, and decreased cordination, I will drop things unless I constantly tell myself to hold on to it.

I have been tested for RA, celiac...I don't even have an elevated white blood count. All x-rays and blood work and bone scans have been normal. I a thin, so it is hard to see the swelling on me, but I swell up a half a ring size.

Oh, if it helps, my knucles, primarily on my right hand starting with my index finger knuckle, becomes very red and swollen. Although the doctor says its "just the bone". So its like something is pushing the bone to be bigger.

Please help, I can't live my life, I can't what I want. I take anti-inflamatory drugs, but i worry about the damage due to my joints. Please, any ideas.

  • Look up spondylarthropathies. Also, did anyone think about gout?
