My brother is a 60 year old male, English. He has been through sevral tests on his condition, however i would like to et other opinions on this.

- shortness of breath
- tachycardia
- lassitude

a clinical diagnosis revealled Hepatosplenomegaly

Full Blood Count:-

Hb 10.9 g/dl
Rbc 5.07 x1012/l
PCV 35 %
MCV 70 fl
MCH 19.7 pg
MCHC 28.2 g/dl

RDW 21.2

WBC 4.2 x109/l
Platelets 125 x109/l

Retics 0.1%

this was the comment made on a bood film carried out:-

-pleomorphic population of microcytic/hypochromic and normochromic/normocytic red cells with occasional macrocytes.

-moderate degree of poikilocytosis.

-white cell differential indicates neutropaenia

-platelet distribution is reduced.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be related to.
