I'm a 24 year old female, non-smoker, non-drinker. Recently I have been having problems with an unusually high heart rate, normally 120-140bpm it has gone all the way up to 160 bpm. I've also been dizzy, lightheaded, with several episodes of near fainting. My blood pressure last time I was at the doctor was 110/80. I've also been experiencing weakness (especially in my right arm) nervousness, anxiety, panic attacks, some fatigue, occasionally a pause between heart beats, a thudding/hard heart beat, and cold/tingling hands and feet. Occasionally I've felt out of breath especially when standing up or with minimal exertion. So far I've had several ECG's which were evaluated by three different doctors and a cardiologist, they all came back at a high heart rate but otherwise normal. I've had chest x-rays, an echocardiogram, a holter monitor, several thyroid tests, and complete blood work ups. So far everything except the holter monitor came back normal. The holter monitor found that my heart rate goes up higher than normal but not extremely high and that i feel dizzy when my heart rate goes up, it also found some irregular beats. The cardiologist said that he couldn't decifer what was causing the tachycardia from the holter monitor and is sending me to a major area hospital for more testing. I've been on Toprol xl 25mg for a couple of weeks, and the pausing between beats and seemingly weak pulse pressure may be from that. Does anyone know what could be causing my symptoms and if the Toprol could cause a weak pulse pressure and arrythmia? Sorry this is so long. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
