HELLO, my name is magicdancer...I am 54 yrs old...and relatively healthy except for this past year. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic epstein barr. I have lived with the later since I was 32 yrs.old. I have it under control and have an active life.

I eat healthy and do not eat sweets. cakes. pies. junk food. I eat alot of veggies, salads, chicken, fish.

Since april I have gained a total of 27 lbs. most of it was gained in 3 weeks time. Bra size went up 3 cups... In may I started throwing up blood and had an endogastric test done...It showed that I was blood red from the back of my throat..into my stomach and as far down into the small intestines that the camera could go. We have that under control...but...the gastro doc sent me to an endochronologist...my thyroid test comes back normal...he then does an adrenial gland stimulation test...the doc weighed me before the test. when I returned in 2 weeks for the results...I had gained another 7 lbs.

He just looked at me and asked what did I eat....My boyfriend told him that I eat like a bird.. and that most of the time I am not hungry.

If this weight gain keeps up...I will be bigger than a house.

I am 5'8'', and have always weighed around 135 lbs.

any idea's ?????

  • At age 23 the same happened to me. I still have no answers...I also have CFS and epstein barr. I have thyroid on top of that, but that is under control. I'm now 30...I am 5'3" and weighed 117 before all this. I was a runner and obsessive about eating healthy and working out...I ran a marathon the year before all this happened...then with no explanation I gained 40 pounds in about 4 months. I have struggled with this weight ever since then.If you find out anything please post here. I am currently working on a diagnosis for an autoimmune disease...I believe I have lupus. I think it is connected. I have some antibodies that point to this diagnosis...I wonder if the inflammation in my body from the autoimmune problem I have is causing a metabolism problem...I work out as much as I can now and still try to eat healthy, but ever since this began I have never been able to get back down to my previous weight.Good luck, and I will try to check back and see if you find any possible cause.Michelle

I am trying to figure out what my weight gain has been and I keep seeing hormonal imbalance on the internet as a cause for unexplained weight gain.
