Hi All - need your help. My husband has an unexplained fever condition for about 10 years.

When it first started, it would occur every 3 weeks or so. As time went on, it became every two weeks and now it happens regularly every 6 - 7 days. Fever, joint pain, slight cough, lasting about 4 hours.

We have been to the Mayo - it is not cancer, leukemia, lupus, malaria, or any infectious disease that they tested for. TB was not ruled in or out. However, they failed to come up with a diagnosis.

Has anyone had experience or know someone with a fever that occurs almost like clock work?

Thank you.

  • Lyme Disease has cycles which can cause the 4 week thing. Babesiosis can cause fever. Between the both of them, all your husband's symptoms can be accounted for. Go to a LLMD. If a doctor does not know what that is -- go elsewhere. You can locate Lyme Literate Doctors online who will direct your testing to sensitive labs. Yes, even more sensitive than Mayo's. My brother works at Duke University Medical center and still didn't couldn't help me find answers. I suffered for 15 years. I am finally on treatment. It is not cheap, but if you at least get to a LLMD and do some testing, you will have tried a very possible answer to your husband's problems. Email me if you wish. Light
