I have been experience sparsely scattered petechiae since October and have been to a ton of doctors including 2 internists, 2 FP, 3 dermotologists, a hemotologist and even two ER doctors (because I had gotten my anxiety so high about the petechiae that all sorts of things were happening). All of these doctors were not concerned but did run tests (due to my requests) that all came back normal. I have had several CBCs, autoimmune, platelet function, epstein barr, Hepatitis, and liver functions tests.. all normal. The only doctor that even confirmed them to be petechiae was a dermotologist from the Mayo clinic. THe rest of the doctors have given me all sorts of explanations but I have done enough research to know what they are. This has caused me so much anxiety and I just cant except that it is nothing since everything I have read has scared the crap out of me. I also dont know of any one else who has this "normal" thing. I am 36 years old and have never had this problem. The petechiae does not occur in clusters and comes and goes in different spots every day (I can make them go away by pusing on them so I am assuming the blood is being reabsorbed back in to the tissue). They may appear in clusters if I dont push on them , who knows they just freak me out so I cant stand having them there. I do not know what to do about it anymore and am just scared that there is something underlying that is missing. ANy advice is welcomed. Sorry for being so long winded!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
