My mom has been experiencing dizziness for a couple of yrs now. She always feels off balance, lately she has been falling. When she falls she seems always fall straight back (not to the side or knees bent) ...just seemed weird to me. Any type of light bothers her eyes and they are always tearing. She had double vision and cannot focus. Her eyes always seem glassy to me. Last year she was slurring her words and choking on her own saliva....that has improved a little bit....no more slurring but her speech is very slow. She seems to have very high anxiety, always very nervous, she goes from laughing to crying hysterically in seconds without any control. We have been to many nuerologist, and have taken MRI, PEt Scan, blood work, spinal tab etc and all test come back normal. How could that be? 10 yrs ago my mother was an independent working women and now she cannot even drive her own car. Any type of decision making overwhelms her - so she cannot make any type of desion. She is always so tense and nervous and cant ever seem to relax. SHe cries alot because mentally she want to be like before but physically she cant.
All doctors say that all the test come back normal???

I just wonder has anyone experienced these symptoms or know of anyone who has???
Pls any feedback would be helpful. I am so desperate to find her some helP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How old is your mother? Has she had any traumas? Has she been exposed to chemical?...There are a lot of unanswered questions here. Has she had a stroke? Sounds almost like an absence seizure? But this isn't a lot to go on.

But this isn't a lot to go on.My mom is 58 yrs old. About 11 yrs ago my dad lost his job in NJ so he sold his house and moved to Florida w my mom. In that yr she went to Peru and had a hysterectomy, shortly after she returned she began to miss Jersey and my dad couldnt find work in Fl. She had a nervous breakdown because she missed the family and wanted to come back. She became very nervous and was always cryiing and didnt want to be left alone. The doctor put her Zoloft. She was on that for about 6 yrs. Im not aware of any chemicals that she may have been exposed to. One nuerologist said that the MRI showed that she may have had a minor stroke but nothing that would cause these symptoms. We have gone to ear, eye specialist and they find nothing wrong. pls help!

Regards DonnaIm no doctor (but I am a nurse) and my father is having similar symptoms. He wakes at 6:45 gets to McDonalds at 7: eats with his buddies and they get up to leave between 7:45-8:00. This is where his problems start. He starts to get a little double vision, bright sun bothers him and his biggest problem is that his balance has gotten worse since he got outta bed.He lives on Cape Cod which has a high deer population. It appears as though he may have contracted lymes disease. One doctor said thats what he believes thats what it is. My dad is 77. Don't know if this of any help, but I thought it couldn't hurt. I'd love to hear back with any thoughts or info. Thanks Andy
