Hi

I am new to this forum.
I have suffered since a child with stomach problems. I am now 65 yrs. old & still suffering.
I have severe stomach pains, mostly right sided. I have almost constant nauesa. I have had every test there is for stomach problems. D. is everyday, sometimes 8 to 10 times a day and yellow. Pain is so severe at times that I sweat profusely. Pain will go into my lower back & down my legs.
In 2001 they discovered that my stomach was high up in my chest. In order to put it where it should be, they had to staple it in place.
In 2003 I did the camera pill & they discovered 2 duodenal tumors & removed them. Needless to say, neither surgery has fixed the problem.
The drs. just shake their heads.
I've told them that my grandmother, mother and both of my children have this same thing. In fact, my grandmother died of a burst intestines.
The strange thing is-- there can be months when I am symptom free & then out of the blue it strikes and lasts for months. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat or don't eat.
The latest thing my gastro. tried was 2 round of anitbiotics. I have told him that antibiotics make me sicker. I tried each of them, but only for 2 days as the symptoms became so severe I could not even walk my little dog.
Can anyone help me or perhaps offer up some suggestions?:(

Thanks

  • Checked for gallstones, kidney stones,CT on pancreas? The one problem with antibiotics is that they dont just kill off viruses and bad bacterias they also kill off good bacteria.Try the opposite to antibiotics and build your self up with probiotics.Acidophilus and bifidobacterium are the good bacterium in you upper GI tract, they keep everything in balance. Candida albicans, l. pylori are some of the bad bacteria, if they get control, then symtoms like what you are suffering can occur. Health food shops carry acidophilus and bifidobacterium also if you are not lactose intolerant load up on bovine Colostrum. The more I read up on it the more I understand why new born bady need it at birth. If these dont help then try digestive enzymes- this can point to the pancreas.Regards

  • Hi I didn't mention in my earlier request for help that I do have thyroid nodules & recently have high blood pressure. The only meds I take are:Levoxyl=thyroidDiovan=blood pressure Recently been taking Donnatol to try to help with stomach pain. They also tried Flagyl and Xifaxan. I only seem to be worse since I took these meds so I have stopped them. My dr. is of the opinion that I have bacterial overgrowth, but in that case, wouldn't those meds have helped, not made me worse? I am in severe pain today. Also, really can't leave the house as I need a bathroom very close by.
