Im 37 female smoker. I have had bloods done all normal including thyroid check. I had an xray which showed a slight infection so been on amoxicillan for 2 weeks. I feel no different i just feel worn out trying to find out whats wrong im at the end of my teather. Im off to the docs again tommorow any advise for what tests to ask for or what it is?? the lump doesnt move when i swallow or affected my swalling and i have not coughed up blood.

  • My friend had a similar problem. She had a lump on the side of her neck, close to where the neck joins the torso; it didn't hurt but sometimes she could feel it when carrying a heavy backpack. When she went to see a doctor about it - over time she was getting freaky it might be a tumour - they told her they did not know what it was, but probably it was not dangerous (great answer, he?). I think the only test they did was sonography of the lump area. They offered to remove it.I think it could be a ganglion or a "fat lump", but of course you never know - and the more you worry, the worse you will feel. If your doctor is not able to diagnose it and say for sure that it is nothing dangerous, then I would have it removed if I were you. Good luck !
