I've gained 60 pounds, upper body obesity, nausea, weak and trouble breathing. Feel swelled all over especially after eating. Have had every test they know to do including Cushings...everything comes out fine. Cortisol level low aldosterone level high. Tammy

  • Here's some things that can cause elevated aldosterone levels- I don't know what all these mean, i am just pulling them out of a book:Conn's diseaseadrenal cortical nodular hyperplasiaBartter's syndrome (renal wasting of potassium associated with poor sodium absorption)low sodium high potassiumdiuretic uselaxative usestresshypertensioncongestive heart failurelow intravascular volume from cirrhosis or kidney problemsrenal artery stenosispregnancy/ contraceptive uselow blood volume/hemmorhagehigh renin levelsThis is just a partial list. You need a licensed doctor to figure out why your aldosterone is high and explain your other symptoms.Do not give up searching for an answer.I wish you the best and hope you find out what is wrong soon!
