If anyone can explain what this disease may be I would be very happy! It's been 3 years and there is still no diagnostic.

In 2007 my 72 years old mom (160 lbs) started her illness.

She has: thyroid - on levoxyl & high blood pressure Micardis

Her symptoms since 2007: blank stare, walking disturbance, stands up & feet don't move & falls down, bladder control, some memory loss, inability to concentrate , 8-10 second delay responses to questions, (googled: pointed to parkinson's disease)

Doctors claim she does NOT have: parkinson's, lyme disease, dementia, alzheimer's, hydrocephalus (water on the brain)

Doctors diagnosed her having: mini strokes & possibly hardening of arteries

For the past 3 years my dad has been going back & forth to so many specialists @ Butler hospital in RI. I have asked him to register @ Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston but the drive would be difficult especially at his age. He's at his last resource. Can anyone explain what the problem may be?

I know very little about this but have heard that UTIs can cause the "dementia-like" symptoms in the elderly. Could she be having a reaction to any of the medications she's currently on? Does she have any food/environmental allergies? I wish you the best. Jaime
