Undiagnosed bone pain in Seattle

I am seeking advice on how to get the proper medical test to diagnose symtoms which started in 1998 and continue to this day. Chief complaints are wide-spread bone pain, changes in teeth enamel causing a thinning and chipping of teeth, and thinning of nose and ear cartilage. Previous tests have been inconclusive, and I strongly believe that after eight years of bone pain and noticeable changes I should have a bone biopsy, which would immediately tell if there is a bone disorder.

If anyone has had experience getting uncommon medical tests ordered, I would appreciate any feedback. I am able to pay for the test myself if necessary, but I can't order the test without a physician; my past physicians were reluctant to do anything outside of insurance, and reluctant to contradict the insurance company's spending caps (they dropped my last primary care doctor when she fought to give me more testing).

  • I would suggest seeing an orthopedic surgeon...get bone scans.
